Queens Cross dent FPs chances

FPs were dealt a blow to their promotion chances as they slipped to a 6 wicket defeat to Queens Cross.  After losing the toss FPs were asked to bat and struggled to 130 all out in 43.1overs despite a valiant 37 from Budd.  In reply Queens Cross were 54 for 4 but a useful 56 from McLarnon saw them to victory. FPs held by Leaders

FPs were unable to close the gap on leaders St Ronald in a dull encounter at Rubislaw.  Despite requiring only 191 for victory, St Ronald made no attempt to chase down the total preferring to bore the FP fielders into submission.  There are often exciting draws such as the recent Academy encounter but if ever there was ammunition for those keen to ban the draw then this was it. FPs held by Academy

FPs were unable to force a victory against Academy after a determined display by the Academy batsmen. FPs did however get the better of the draw collecting maximum batting and draw points as well as picking up 9 wickets. With Knudson and Clelland both unavailable, it was stand in skipper Morrison who lost the toss and FPs were asked to bat. With all other games off at the Duthie Park, it was a very wet pitch which greeted openers Lord and Budd. Continue reading

FPs crush sorry Kemnay

FPs kept up the pressure at the top of the table as they dismantled Kemnay’s batting and completed victory in less than two hours at Rubislaw.  Despite winning the toss, Kemnay surprisingly elected to bat first against a strong FP bowling unit which contained Moir, Lord, Stuart, Eagles, Tomkins, MacDonald and Youles.
