Grammar FPs 2nd XI had to make only six changes to last weeks team, unavailable were the Bramalds, Rory Annand, Luigi Goval, James Lord and Sam Gill, and in came Sam Knudson, fresh from takng 5 wickets for the first XI last week, and no less than five players making their first appearance of the season, Tom Murray, Ben Frizzel, Mike Phillips, and two debutants in Rizwan and Mike Ashton also playing his first game since his schooldays.

Our first home game of the season was against promotion favourites Kintore 2nd XI. Following last week’s disappointment of having to scratch due to a lack of players, this week the selection committee had a difficult job of selecting eleven from fourteen.
The toss was again won by FPs, and Kintore were asked to bat first.

A much depleted first eleven were made to work hard for a win by Academy but ran out deserved winners by three wickets. FPs showed 7 changes from the side which defeated Crathie last week with Gary Stuart, Craig Fraser, Luigi Govil, Sam Knudsson, Sam Gill, Rob Fryer and Magesh coming into the side for the unavailable Moir, McDonald, Clelland, Budd, James Lord and Muthu. The 2nd XI season started with a trip to Ellon and a defaet by 38 runs. With only 9 players available it was never going to be easy task. However the toss was won and Ellon were invited to bat on a damp wicket, thankfully the outfield was in good condition despite the recent weather.
