Winning Start as FPs Crush the Broch

FPs made a strong start to the new season as they brushed aside Fraserburgh in a 7 wicket win.  Miller, Moir and Eagles were all in fine bowling form, sharing 8 wickets, with debutant Whyte claiming 3 catches and stand in keeper Morrison grabbing 5 dismissals.

Turriff (A) 16th August

There were three changes to the team which won so convincingly at Dunecht two weeks previous. Out went Blyth who, having hit peak form, is now concentrating on the hockey season. John Lord and Craig Fraser were recalled to the first eleven, hoping to carry that winning feeling to the firsts.

Back from holiday came Tom Murray, and back from Partyland came Mike Phillips. Kevin Warner was all ready to make his debut, and flew his wife over from the West Indies especially to watch, only for him to fall foul of Scottish flu on the Friday night, and sadly he had to call off on Saturday morning.

Majestic Moir massacres Queens Cross

FPs cruised to an 8 wicket win with more than 18 overs to spare as Dallas Moir unleashed an astonishing onslaught on the Queens Cross attack in an unbeaten 97 from only 66 balls. Veteran Moir, making a rare appearance, lined up beside his fit again brother Jerry Moir, with Simon Tomkins also making a very welcome return to the fold. Continue reading

Stuart sixcess batters Broch

Gary Stuart turned in a wonderful bowling display taking 6 for 23 to easily defeat a talented Fraserburgh side. After Fraserburgh were dismissed for 104, FPs chased the runs down with 11 overs to spare to win by 6 wickets.

4 changes to 1st XI for Broch trip

Skipper Knudson has named another strong looking side with 4 changes from last weeks draw at Kemnay.  The injured Moir drops out along with Sam Knudson, John Youles and Aly MacDonald.  Stuart returns to lead the bowling attack, along with James Lord and vice captain Chris Clelland.  John Eagles is set to make his first start of the season.
