Weather Denies FPs Victory in Abandonment

FPs were denied a seemingly certain victory as heavy rain washed out the FP innings while only chasing a victory target of 64.  Despite both sides attempting to make the best of the conditions, it was clear by4pm that there was no chance of the game being completed and the captains had no alternative but to call the game off.

Golf Day Groupings Announced

Jerry Moir defends his green jacket and Morrison looks to lose his red jacket as the annual Cricket Section golf day takes place at Peterculter this Sunday, 12th October.

Ten cricket members are playing both before and after lunch. Dallas Moir will be disappearing in the afternoon and Ann Hopkin and Chris Clelland will be joining the Texas Scramble. The tee times and groups look like this:

  • 9.31 D. Moir(10), Ferro(14), Eagles(10)
  • 9.38 Morrison(24), MacDonald(24)
  • 9.45 Fraser (14), Stuart(14), Budd(21)
  • 9.52 J. Moir(9), Wilson(14), Hopkin(21)

For the afternoon Scramble teams, based on tradition, equity and Eagles over confidence about his team’s victory are:

  • 14.32 Fraser, Stuart, Morrison (total 52 -> 5.2)
  • 14.39 Clelland(21), MacDonald, Wilson (59-> 5.9)
  • 14.46 Unlucky visitors insinuated between us
  • 14.53 Ferro, Budd, I Hopkin (56-> 5.6)
  • 15.00 A. Hopkin (36), J. Moir, Eagles (55-> 5.5)

All players to have 2 or is it 3 counting drives (for debate at lunch).

FPs held by Academy

FPs were unable to force a victory against Academy after a determined display by the Academy batsmen. FPs did however get the better of the draw collecting maximum batting and draw points as well as picking up 9 wickets. With Knudson and Clelland both unavailable, it was stand in skipper Morrison who lost the toss and FPs were asked to bat. With all other games off at the Duthie Park, it was a very wet pitch which greeted openers Lord and Budd. Continue reading

Majestic Moir massacres Queens Cross

FPs cruised to an 8 wicket win with more than 18 overs to spare as Dallas Moir unleashed an astonishing onslaught on the Queens Cross attack in an unbeaten 97 from only 66 balls. Veteran Moir, making a rare appearance, lined up beside his fit again brother Jerry Moir, with Simon Tomkins also making a very welcome return to the fold. Continue reading

Saints go marching on as FPs fall to defeat

Second placed AGSFPs failed to upset the form team St Ronald in a closely contested top of the table clash at Kings. Three changes from the successful outing to the Broch the week before saw the return of John Youles Jerry Moir and Aly MacDonald for Grammar in place of Fraser Stuart and Millar.
