2nds Go Down Fighting at Portcullis

The Second XI’s opening away match this season was at the Duthie Park against Portcullis. Our large squad fluctuated from ten available on Friday morning to thirteen by Saturday lunchtime. Eventually there were four changes from the washed out opening match, Mutu was unavailable, Phillips had work commitments, Houghton was hospitalised with hopefully a non-Mexican strain of chickenpox, and Blyth was planning his forthcoming wedding.

FP’s had two debutants, Kamran and Raam, Mike Hart made his annual comeback and Raj travelled up from Edinburgh to help us out again.

2nds End Season on a High at Stoneywood

Last week’s close defeat against promotion favourites Banchory meant that the last game of the season against Stoneywood-Dyce would decide which of the two teams would finish bottom of Grade 3.

There were two changes to the team, out through injury went James Lord, and Edinburgh based Pradeep was spared the trip to Aberdeen as in came Rory Annand, and due to make his debut was Kevin Warner. Banchory (H) 23rd August

Sam Knudson was unavailable due to rugby friendlies, not relegation battles, just friendlies. But to replace him in the team from the firsts came all rounder James Lord. To ensure we had eleven this week, we had to send for one of our Edinburgh squad members, Pradeep.

2nd Banchory (A) 21st June

The near impossible happened this week when the team was chosen by 10am on Thursday morning, but still showed four changes from last week’s team.

Magesh’s three friends from Edinburgh had better things to do this week, Skinner was recalled to the first XI and Mike Hart was unavailable, so in came Muthu to keep wicket, Rory Annand returned from an extended tour of the Guinness brewery in Dublin, Tom Murray returned from holiday, and JPL returned from his self imposed exile for the trip to Banchory.
