Banchory’s Redpath spoils schoolboys day out

A trip to Burnett Park in Banchory for a game of cricket is never a hardship, and the AGSFP’s 3rd XI team selected showed four changes from the previous weeks team. Out of the team due to injury, holiday, and a couple of promotions to the 2nd XI went Gopal, Lord, Joy and J. D’Costa. In came Paul Norwood, Gary Stuart, Sandeep Dhanamani, Ian Goodenough. This meant that the average age had doubled from the previous weeks as there were only 5 schoolboys playing in this match for FP’s.

3rd FP’s feature future FP’s

Experience gave way to youth for the AGSFP’s 3rdXI Grade 4 match against Methlick 2nd XI at Harlaw, with a total of 8 changes being made to the team which lost at Kemnay the previous week.

Aberdeen Grammar School supplied a total of 6 current pupils to the team, Jason Alexander, Jeston D’Costa, Leston D’Costa, Kingshuk Ghosh, Rutwik Hedge and Rajaa Monnapillai,  the highest number of schoolboys selected for an FP’s team for many a year.  The schoolboys were joined by ex pupils, now students, James Lord and Tim Gillies, ex pupil, ex student, Melvin Joy, (total of 9 current or past pupils) Rahul Gopal and team average age spoiler Ian Johnston. Joy of Six (lbw’s) for KK 2nds

A much changed AGSFP’s 3rdXI team travelled to Kemnay for the Grade 4 match at Bogbeth Park. The team which emerged from the oldest phone list in town was Johnston (c), Paul Norwood (this week’s keeper), Tim Gillies, Rahul Gopal, Abdul Khan, Shri Balasubramani, Arun Chithambaram and four FP’s, Former Players, somehow persuaded to play after an absence of 3 or 4 years, namely John Youles, Tom Murray, Andy Milne and Luigi Goval.

FP’s 3rds lose at Ellon

There were five changes to the AGSFP’s 3rd XI team which had played in the previous match week’s Johnston Rose Bowl cup defeat at Ellon. Unavailable from that game were Lee, Naga, Chithambaran, Gillies and top scorer Russell who was out due to a badly strained twitter finger.

The team selected was Johnston (c), Norwood, Joy, Hedge, Gopal, Ghosh (wkt) Yalamanchili, Balasubramani, Chowadry, Rathinam. The toss was lost by FP’s who were asked to bat by Ellon skipper Meikle, the wicket looking a lot dryer that the previous week. Continue reading

Russell fifty not enough for FP’s

The Johnston Rose Bowl first round saw an away match for AGSFP’S 3rd XI and the team selected to play Ellon 2nd XI was Johnston, Norwood, Lee (wkt), Hedge, Russell,  Gopal, Nama, Yalamanchili, Rathinam, Chithambaran, Gillies.
