Agha Stars Again as FPs Win Again

Agha Haider kept up his phenomenal form with the bat since assuming the captaincy, lifting his average to 332 with another unbeaten half century as FPs cruised to a 7 wicket win at home to Ellon. He was well supported in an unbroken 73 run stand by Hamish Penman who made a classy 20 not out. Agha Haider also bagged 3 wickets and a run out as he helped his team restrict Ellon to 102 all out. 

Prash landed the decisive blow bowling the ever dangerous Barrett for 13.

FPs Cruise Past Methlick

Haider scored another half century and claimed 4 wickets

FPs kept up their winning ways with a comfortable 8 wicket win against Methlick. After Methlick made 138 for 8 in 40 overs, Alex Keith and Agha Haider both hit unbeaten 50s as FPs completed the win in the 19th over. Haider had earlier taken 4 for 13 including 3 wickets in an over. Continue reading

Karan Ton takes the day and makes it Abergreen

Anand returned and smashed a ton

Karan Anand’s return to the side was marked by his 8th FPs century as he blasted a quickfire 109 not as FPs made 256 for 4 as Inverdee debuted as a cricketing venue. He cracked 11 sixes and 8 fours as he and Aly MacDonald (27no) shared an unbeaten 127 stand for the 5th wicket. Earlier Alex Keith had looked set for a serene century himself making 73 in good time in a 100 run opening stand with Rob Swiergon (32). Abergreen never threatened crawling to 10 for 2 after 10 overs and eventually being bowled out of the final ball of the innings for 156. Swiergon was the pick of the bowlers with 3 for 20, Prash and Morrison both bagging 2 for 20, Harrower, Javaid and an Aly MacDonald run out wrapping things up. Continue reading

Gritty Grammar Grind Past Grampian

The skipper did his bit with bat, ball and a key run out

A determined all round team effort saw FPs reach the semi finals of the Bon Accord Cup on Thursday night but they had to work hard to get there. Having slipped to 41 for 4 in the 6th over, a stand of 89 between skipper Agha Haider (49no) and wicketkeeper Geoff Morrison (31) helped FPs to a useful 133 for 6 in their 20 overs. Mahesh Challa took 2 early wickets but as Grampian got within range, a chaotic 19th over saw Haider and Swiergon combine to run out Aluvathingal for 55 and then Swiergon take 2 in 2 balls as Grampian’s chase was halted, Grampian finishing 6 runs light.

Sean Ensures a Harrowing Day for Knights

Harrower claimed 6 wickets

Sean Harrower was the bowling hero with 6 for 31 as FPs powered to another comfortable win, this time by 8 wickets against 2nd Knightriders. After the opening bowlers had restricted the visitors to 10 runs off the opening 10 overs, Harrower took charge as he was expertly backed by some brilliant catching by his teammates. After an early scare as FPs slid to 12 for 2, an unbroken stand of 100 between Alex Keith (46no) and Agha Haider (42no) steered FPs to victory with 23.3 overs to spare. Continue reading
