Sean Ensures a Harrowing Day for Knights

Harrower claimed 6 wickets

Sean Harrower was the bowling hero with 6 for 31 as FPs powered to another comfortable win, this time by 8 wickets against 2nd Knightriders. After the opening bowlers had restricted the visitors to 10 runs off the opening 10 overs, Harrower took charge as he was expertly backed by some brilliant catching by his teammates. After an early scare as FPs slid to 12 for 2, an unbroken stand of 100 between Alex Keith (46no) and Agha Haider (42no) steered FPs to victory with 23.3 overs to spare. Continue reading

Mercurial Mahesh Demolishes Ellon

Mahesh Challa produced the bowling spell of his life to demolish Ellon for 28 claiming 8 for 10 in 7 overs. Prash weighed in with the other 2 as FPs racked up another win shortly after 230pm. Having removed both Webb and Barrett in 3 balls, he then laid waste to the remaining batsmen, Ellon losing 8 for 8 to fall from 20 for 2 to 28 all out. Both Challa and Prash were on hat tricks as FPs claimed 7 bowled, 2 LBWs and 1 catch in a remarkably accurate bowling spell. Team Lineup v Ellon (A) – Saturday 20th May 1pm

FPs make 3 changes from last week’s win. Mike Nattrass returns along with Pete Macklin and there is a very welcome return to action for Sean Harrower, Police Scotland kindly granting him a rare day off where he will hope that all he needs to deal with this week is the excellent home batsmen. John Youles, Jim Lee and Tom Murray the 3 players who drop out.

Agha Does Grampian

Agha Haider played a match winning 88 not out

FPs strolled to a comfortable 151 run victory at Rubislaw against 2nd Grampian thanks to 88 not out from skipper Agha Haider, another half century from Alex Keith and a fluent 30 not out from Hamish Penman. Prash soon had the visitors in trouble with a couple of early wickets before Rob Swiergon atoned for his earlier 2nd ball duck with 5 for 10 with his sharp medium pace. Grampian had at one stage had FPs 10 for 2 but a stands of 95 and 87 took FPs to 192 for 3 which on most other outfields would have been worth many many more. Continue reading
