3s Brave Effort Thwarted by Knights

3s were unlucky to come out on the wrong side of things against 2nd Knightriders,. With the club missing many players, it was a credit to the selection committee that all 3 teams were able to play and those helping out rose to the occasion in what ended up as a close 2 wicket loss. Grammar battled well to record 183 all out in 39 overs, Ali Shah top scoring with 42 but there were contributions throughout with Hussain (22), Abbas (22), Sayed (16) and Hashmi (17) all doing their bit.

Grammar had their opponents in some trouble at 82 for 5 and then 158 for 8 but 38 from Kesavan saw Knights home with 14 balls to spare. Like the batting, bowling duties were shared with 7 bowlers in action, 5 collecting a wicket or two.

It was another good effort from the 3s who are continuing to show good battling qualities and improvements as the season goes on.

Kashif 6 hitting heroics downs Grampian

Muhammad Kashif hit 2 sixes in the final over to grab a dramatic win for 2s against Grampian. After an epic innings of 73 from Sameer Bin Khalid from 114 balls, Grammar timed their assault just right to snatch victory. Needing 10 from the final over, the equation was still 7 from the final 3 balls but two sixes off the 4th and 5th ball carried Grammar to the win.

It was a game that ebbed and flowed with Grampian falling from 105 for 2 to 120 for 6 thanks to smart bowling from Grammar, but Grampian fought back to eventually post 172 all out, the 3.3 overs they did not bat ultimately proving vital. Skipper Abdul Saboor chipped in with 3 for 24 and Hasnain Javaid picked up 3 for 39. Bin Khalid took 2 for 34 with Moman and Kashif also claiming a wicket.

Grammar started quite slowly and for long spells were behind the rate but kept wickets in reserve due to Bin Khalid’s smart batting. He struggled for any sustained support and when he fell with the score on 144 for 7, Grammar appeared doomed, however helped by extras and 18 from Amjad, Grammar got in range for Kashif to guide them home to a great win which pulls them level on top spot, only behind Grampian on NRR. Next up is 2nd Masterblasters at St Margarets.

Grammar Brushed Aside by Bons

Grammar never got g0ing at all against Bon Accord as they fell to an 8 wicket loss in a one sided affair. Grammar were bowled out for just 99 with no one making any real impression as wickets fell regularly in an under par batting performance, Salman Bedaar top scoring with 19. With the ball and in the field, Grammar were far from their best as Bons coasted to victory in 15.2 overs Fazal Awan with an unbeaten 50, Hassaan and Bedaar both claiming a wicket.

Next up for Grammar is Cults and Grammar will hope for a better all round showing.

Gordos too strong for Grammar

Grammar fell to a 7 wicket defeat at a damp Countesswells, 151 for 7 proving a little light as Gordonians knocked it off with 7 overs to spare. As has been a common challenge, no one could get a big score for Grammar with Agha Haider (35) and Salman Bedaar (32) being the 2 batsmen most likely. Naveed, Hassaan and Javaid all claimed a wicket but Gordonians managed to close out a relatively comfortable win.
