Team 2s hopes of promotion were dented with a 24 run loss at Methlick, however with Team 3 pulling off a magnificent victory at Fraserburgh, 2s remain well placed. Despite a fine 93 not out from Tom Acton, 2s would have expected to chase down the home sides 173 for 6 but no one could get a telling score as the home side closed out a good win.
Amir Siddiq (3/30) and Asif Yousuf (2/18) shone with the ball and Grammar would have felt well placed at the half way mark. The chase started well with Tom Murray (30) and Harry Murphy (17) adding 53 for the 1st wicket, before both falling in quick succession. Contributions from Masood (35), Quaraisi (18) and Nattrass (10) helped Grammar to 140 for 5 but a collapse of 5 for 9 saw Methlick storm to victory, Hill’s 4 for 16 doing the main damage. Next up for 2s is a challenging game at home to leaders Grampian.
