2s produced an inspired bowling and fielding display to claim a win from what appeared certain defeat. Having been bundled out for just 84, only opener Tom Murray (11) and last man Sahadat Abbasi (10no) made double figures. After adding 27 for the 1st wicket, Grammar slumped to 47 for 8 and while it didn’t seem important at the time the addition of 20 for the 9th wicket and 17 for the last wicket was pivotal to Grammar winning.
Needing quick wickets to at least gain some points, Grammar struck regularly to keep the game in the balance, as Portcullis slipped to 46 for 8, Kashif (3/21) and Sameer Bin Khalid (2/21) doing the damage. Portcullis did recover to get within 12 of victory when Abbasi entered the fray to bowl Godse for 20 and with Portcullis only 1 hit from victory, Suleman Quraishi pinned Gubbala LBW, Portcullis showing what a fair side they are giving the decision when many sides likely would have not.
Grammar will be relieved to have scraped through this game and next face Methlick away.
