2s were well beaten by 9 wickets by Fraserburgh on Saturday but the game was somewhat overshadowed by a bad injury to Sean Harrower who was knocked unconscious in the field. Thankfully he is on the road to recovery and is expected to return to action in 4 weeks’ time.
FPs were put in to bat and opener Tom Murray made a strong 33 in an opening stand of 46, but after he fell, wickets tumbled regularly with only Aly MacDonald (25) and Leston D’Costa (22) making double figures as FPs were 115 all out, O’Neill with 5 for 16.
2s were boosted by the returns of all-rounders Kieran Whyte and Matt Barker for this game and despite their efforts with the ball, 2s could only claim 1 wicket, Harrower doing so before his injury. It took 32 overs for the target to be reached due to tight bowling from Harrower, Whyte and D’Costa. The late introduction of Ian Johnston sadly did not deliver the wicket that everyone craved.
2s face Stoneywood Dyce next if their opponents are able to raise a team which so far has not been possible in Grade 2.
