FPs were surprising 3 run winners by DL at Aberdeenshire in the opening game of the T20 Scottish Cup. Having bowled well to restrict Shire to 134 for 5 in their 20 overs, FPs managed to get ahead of the rate and be at 67 for 3 when rain arrived to halt the chase after 10 overs. FPs were much indebted to Fraser Proud who took 1 for 14 in his 4 overs and then made a 22 off 13 balls as FPs looked for quick runs in the chase. Alex Keith and Mike Nattrass then managed the scoring rate to ensure FPs were ahead when the inevitable match-ending downpour arrived.
Next up FPs face Huntly (covid permitting) on Tuesday in the T20 Scottish Cup but only once the league campaign has begun with a very tricky game at Knightriders in Grade 1.
