Chalkie’s Last Stand

Chris Clelland a true club icon bowed out in style.

Chris Clelland bowed out in spectacular style as he once again got FPs over the line to secure a 2nd placed finish. Over his 26 seasons at the club he has been famed as a traditional finisher and he did it again before waving goodbye as he heads south to start a new venture. More renowned as a deflector and nudger, with a quick running style, he saved his best for last launching a six over square leg to win the game by one wicket. FPs had done their best to lose a game that should have easily been won, but Clelland hit a 4 and that 6 to make sure the season and his FP career ended on a high. Skipper Swiergon hit an excellent 70 as FPs eventually chased 185 for victory. Crescent well represented by openers Thangaraj with 52 and Quereshi with 41, ahead of Hamid claiming 5 wickets did their best but a last wicket stand of 12 got FPs home. Karan Anand ended the leagues leading scorer with 504 runs.

Man of The Match
Rob Swiergon controlled the chase with 70 before being the plumbest LBW of the season.

Champagne Moment
Clelland’s winning 6. A fitting end to a man that will need about 4 to replace for all the work he does for the club.
