Keith Ton Downs Montrose in 2 Counties

Alex Keith hammered an unbeaten 124 off 52 balls as FPs easily won their 2

Keith hit a fine century

Counties Cup 20/20 match against Montrose.  He hit 25 fours and 1 six on a lightening Rubislaw outfield as he raised his century in 43 balls, his 1st 50 coming in just 17 balls, including hitting the 1st 5 balls of the game to the boundary. It was his first FPs ton having made many for previous clubs and one for the Grades select this season already.

He was well supported by Eddie Steinson (42 from 21), Rob Swiergon (27 from 22), and Geoff Morrison (29 not out from 15) with the returning favourte Callum Herd the only man who failed making a 2 ball duck. All this meant FPs racked up 247 for 3 in their 20 overs and leaving some less than impressive bowling figures.

Montrose certainly gave it a good go at the start as skipper Petrie unleashed some magnificent reverse sweeps as he made an entertaining 48, but once Sood removed him, when Sam Knudson eventually claimed the catch, Montrose started to fall well behind the rate. Some good later order resistance and some fringe FPs bowlers, ensured Montrose saw out their 20 overs making a commendable 172 for 8. Callum Herd redeeming his batting efforts claiming 4 for 9.
