Karan Anand hit a blistering 177 not out as FPs swept aside Grampian in the Aberdeenshire Cup. Captain for the day in Swiergon’s absence he played a wonderful innings that contained 15 fours and 13 sixes and included a stand of 244 with Connor McKinney who made a classy 62 before being run out late on. At 45 for 4 FPs had seemed to be up against it but Anand and McKinney made sure FPs amassed 305 for 5 after Keith (9), Nattrass (0), Steinson (6) and Sam Knudson (7) fell cheaply. After the onslaught Senthil got off the mark for the season with 7 not out from his 2 balls faced.
The game was all over at half time, but FPs still pressed home their advantage by routing Grampian for 81. Harry Mapplebeck claimed 5 top order wickets for 18 in 6 overs with Sam Knudson claiming 1 for 26 in 7 overs. Arul Senthil got a rare run out with the ball taking 0 for 9 in 4 overs, John Thomson nipped in with 2 for 15 from 4 and Roland Knudson bowled a solitary over for 8.
It was good for FPs to bounce back from the loss to Bon Accord and next up they face Montrose in the 2 Counties Cup.
