An FPs XI eased to a 58 run win against North Under 17s in a 2020 match. FPs made 156 for 3 with Whyte retiring on 43 (34), Thangamani smashing 32 from 19, Youles playing in his own style to muster an unbeaten 17 from 10, Tenneti retiring on 20 (26) and Paul McDonald batting for just 8 minutes and 11 balls before retiring on 20.
FPs quickly rolled over the top order as Hameed claimed 2 for 16 and Whyte took 3 for 3 in a solitary over. Youngsters Hegde (3-1-2-1) and Monapillai 4-0-16-0) bowled well and it allowed skipper Morrison to try 10 bowlers to ensure North U17 got to bat their full 10 overs and closed on 98 for 7 having been 43 for 7. A special mention to opener Davies who batted well to make 25 and to McFail who struck 32 not out. The undoubted highlight of the evening was an improbable but stunning one handed catch by John Youles at slip, which he nonchalantly raised to the many onlookers in a manner that suggested such a catch was a regular occurrence.
