Monsoon conditions put paid to the cup tie between FPs and St Ronald this afternoon with the game perfectly placed with FPs 108 for 5 with 10 overs remaining in their innings, in a match played in an excellent spirit. An early sharp shower had put the match in doubt but after a delay FPs through Morrison and Knudson had added 43 for the 1st wicket and had batted sensibly in difficult conditions to reach 108 with Knudson still at the crease on 38.
Unfortunately the ground was flooded by the rain and the pitch too wet to continue despite both sides best efforts to work to get it playable again and it proved the correct decision as more heavy rain later ensured there was no way the game could have been completed. The replay is scheduled for next Sunday
